Well, the days of “Wagon Wheels” in the morning, three majors a day, rest hour after lunch and falling asleep to the sweet mountain sounds right next to five of your very best friends are beginning to feel long gone. The weather is getting cooler (although it is still pretty dry around here), and the days are already noticeably shorter. I was so used to seeing white vans filled with singing girls that these big yellow busses are quite a change!
Yep, fall is here and it is QUIET at Camp Green Cove, but what a summer we had…
I love remembering those crazy June campers…camp wide pirate day and seeing the fairy houses that they built twinkle in the woods on the night of camp fire. Main camp was just as memorable. I am filled with a whole different set of Main Camp memories. The 6-day New River Gorge climbing trip, 3-day Nantahala Extravaganza paddling PARTY, the 12-Hour Biking Event, the first ever camp wide ‘This Aint Yo Mama’s Kick Ball Tournament’, the amazing horse back riding Final Event, TAJAR DAY, the sailing regatta and Luau. Thank you to everyone who made 2007 a summer to remember!
With camp over, Nancy Debbie and I packed everything from the Green Cove office and have already gotten set up in our winter office at Mondamin. Rosie, Gus & Boomer seem to be adjusting well, but they sure do miss you all! Nancy has been glued to her |
